Gigaspaces plugin

A plugin for Hyperic Enterprise Monitoring system, which will discover grid components, monitor their performance and status, and alert administration personnel about critical conditions.

Features and Capabilities

The plugin monitors GigaSpaces XAP on two levels:

Physical

On the physical level XAP processes are monitored for:

• Availability of services (GSC, Space, PU)
• GSC resource utilization (CPU, Memory, Disk space)
• JVM level parameters (Heap utilization, Threads number, Class loading, Garbage collection)

Logical

For each Space the following parameters are monitored:

• Availability
• Number of operations by type (WRITE, READ, TAKE, NOTIFY & etc)
• Number of Entry instances
• Number of Templates
• Number of Entries and Templates by class
• Number of Classes inside the space

Autodiscovery

The plugin discovers services running on agent's node in runtime. Gigaspaces related processes are identified through process table. After that Jini and JMX is used to discover and monitor logical level services.
